  1. Caring for Velvet is easy, you need a damp cloth, and a lint brush. Lint brush can pull off most of the dust and bits, a damp cloth can freshen up the look and pull off what the lint brush does not. That's my experience of it, anyway. The only problem with velvet is this: it can wear thin in spots, say, from driving a car, or bouncing the toe of the shoe off of the ground while wearing it. Thanks for the compliments everyone. :(

  2. Well, I will offer this thought about thing heels and stilettos. From the sole of the shoe, they emerge, and curve inwar, tapering to a point. This completes a curve started at the waist, which curves out over the bottom, then back in at the knee. It then curves out again over the calf muscle, and back in at the ankle. So it adds one more curve, over the heel of the foot, and down to the tip of the heel of the shoe. I think that for those heels alone, there is something to be said for femininity enhacement. Other heels, they look quite manly when thick, despite the height. But yes, it is society that has ascribed the idea to the shoes. As for Firefox and his men were no less manly than today comment with regards to heels in the 1700s... The characters of heel wearing Early Modern French men is often fopish and dainty, very weak, effeminate... pinching their snuff from tiny silver snuff boxes... I have to wonder where the idea of this comes from, and if it isn't a British idea to make the French look, well, weak. Now, conversly to that, good heels on a pair of riding boots would have been important, and quite manly indeed. Several inches to help keep feet in the stirrups would make sense, although I do not have any examples. I think that heels in and of themselves do not determine the shoe, but the combined elements of the shoe. Toes, style of heel, material, vamp cut, upper, ornamentation... We could probably find manly and womanly heels if we looked at everything, and then a grey area in the middle.

  3. Yes I have worn them out, many times. I think I get sideways glances and hidden stares. I have yet to see any tongues waggling around because of them, but hey, that's not the main reason I wear them. They don't go too well on marble or slick floor surfaces, but they are generally good on pavement, concerte, grass, packed dirt, and anywhere those lovely metal spiked heels can dig in a little bit. :(

  4. Heels have a lot to do with femininity. They do a lot for a woman's posture, enhancing breasts, for one. They do other things, too, which make feminine curves look better. That's why we generally rate it as a 10 score. Because it helps certaine attributes we already have look better. Now, a man wearing heels, well, he doesn't come equipped with those attributes, so there's nothing enhanced. But that's not to say wearing heels is a feminine issue for a man. They don't feminize male attributes, only female attributes. Heels worn by women do things for legs, breasts, and the rest. How can we help but feel more feminine for wearing them?

  5. Hi! Welcome to my little, twisted idea, the story section. Of course, a heely theme is the idea, but we are not going to be super strict. You can post stories here, get advice on writing, and anything revolving around that general area. I hope to showcase some of my own work in here, just to see if people like my work. Don't be shy, if you'd like some advice, and friendly advice at that, you can share, or you can comment on other writings here.

  6. The People's Republic of Walmart. The Flag would change, certainly. Big Yellow smiley up in the corner of that red field. And a new anthem to be heard at the olympics. One of those dumb Walmart songs where they talk about rolling back prices. Okay, maybe Walmart's bulk purchasing of lower heeled sandals is leading to something we need to stop, and stop now!

  7. Bubba, the Walmarts where I lived caried mules and shoes like that with heels that were three inches or so. Well, I picked up a cheap pair there with a three inch heel, for mucking about, so to speak. On a budget, a girl makes do. And of course, Walmart had strappy sandals with a four inch heel as well. I think it proves my theory that not every Walmart receives the same stock, even in the same city, let alone country, or continent.

  8. As a moderator, I am going to take a moderate position here. If a person likes something and is happy, then great! So long as no one else is hurt over it. And that does mean that there should not be any fights errupting over kitten heels. I once saw a pair of shoes in Shuz magazine I adored and wanted so bad. They were called Sweet Attack, leopard print kitten heeled mules. I still think they look great, even though I'd need them in at least a four inch heel these days.

  9. I was thinking about a pirate costume, or skeleton costume, things like that. Come on, you cannot expect to wear that on a ergular day without some inquiry and a lot of staring. :( Pirate costume, complete with replica sword, captain's jacket, eye patch, and thigh high boots. It would work. But the stuffed parrot on the shoulder might be a bit over the top. The other 364 days lead to much curiosity for such things. As for the party, well, I don't even have a passport. I suppose I should get one, considering the state of the world these days...

  10. Last year was last year. All of that went away. Free shipping, I think that sounds good. Let me see if I can find a shipping address. Drop me an e-mail again if you will, I lost most of what was in my folder from back then. Rage of e-mail deleting after a certain breakup. But let's not talk about that. :( I admit, last year, a lot of people were all about offering me things, and I felt it may be wrong, being in a new relationship and accepting things from a lot of men. Yes, some had conditions that I did not like at the time. Not Neil, though, we only had to work out the shipping. Neil, I offer a public apology to you for being so ignorant at the time, and not carrying on conversations about the shoes.

  11. Collectivism makes me afraid. I think it is time to spend more money on low cost and very efficient space vehicles, so we can start offloading willing people to the moon, mars, moons around Jupiter, and so forth. I mean, what happens when you need something at home and cannot find it? You leave your home and go looking for it. In space, heels are easy to wear, when there's no gravity. Although the effect of low or zero G on bones is not always good, from what I see on the news, and those little clips they show just before Stargate on the space channel here. (Darn reruns, why can't they shell out for the current seasons!)
