I'm terribly sorry to report this, but I went out the other day, and bought a pair of flat shoes! They were pointed flats with a buckle details across the toe, but FLAT! They are very pretty, and girly, but FLAT!! I really don't know what came over me. Comfortable they may be. But they ARE FLAT!!! Sorry. Please don't kick me out of the forum! I promise to wear my white 4" heels tomorrow!

Donna - you walk very well in those heels! Very nice boots, by the way. (And very nice bottom, too!) Wish I had some boots like those (SOB!)... but where would I hide them from my wife??

No, I don't try them on in the shop. I really wish I could. Sadly, the town in which I live would frown upon such behaviour. I even got some 'funny' looks when I queued up to buy them! I'm lucky, in that I wear a women's UK size 8, which has become a lot more common in recent years, and pretty/sexy shoes are available everywhere. I've still got the shoes I bought this morning on. They're not too bad. very comfortable (I have a low heel bone, and many shoes cut in. These are good, though.) I wish they looked a bit sexier, though. They promised a lot, but didn't quite deliver! Wish I'd bought the black patent flats with the pointed toe and buckle detail! But then, I'd have wished I'd bought the heels...

Hi all! I was passing a shoe shop this morning, when I saw they had a half-price sale on. I glanced at the rack of girly shoes outside the shop (as I do every morning - ignoring the dulllll men's shoes totally) and I saw a lovely pair of black 4" heels, with cut-away segments around the toe area and all along the outside length. Half price. I couldn't resist! However... I got them home, popped them on, thought: "Yeah, they're OK. Comfy. Easy to walk in. But would that lovely, pretty pair of flatties I also saw have looked prettier? Or the ones with the metal heel been more challenging to walk in?" And here we have my problem. Whenever I buy a pair of shoes, I always regret not buying 'that other pair' instead. The other pair would have looked prettier, or sexier, or sluttier. I am always after the really, really sexy, slutty, ultra-high heel pair, that I never seem to be able to buy. And if I did buy them, I'd want a pair I saw with 5" heels, or the white ones, or the ones with the ankle cuffs! Does anyone else suffer from this? I'd love to know!

I've gone over to the dark side!!

So sorry to have offended your delicate sensibilities. Did you not spot the humour in my message? No? Shame. If you look around on this board, there are all kinds of discussions about the merits of heels or otherwise. Please try to restrain your ire at the mention of the word 'Flat'! And this site IS wonderful - because the people who use it are (usually) kind, understanding and welcoming to allcomers.
