Knowing what they really think about you can never hurt. You may not like hearing it but if bad you at least know where you stand with them.

So true, but I wouldn't want to "trick" them by not revealing who I was before asking for opinions.

Perfect, all the more reason to wear heels.  There is no arguing that wearing heels will make a man taller, and I would argue that they also make a man stronger and progressive looking.

I agree buddy, but I guess there are two ways of looking at it...I chose to think that a guy that has the confidence to wear heels in public really shows that he is comfortable in his skin, not worried about being judged by the usual social norms.  These qualities spell masculinity to me for sure.  I feel amazing while out and about in my boots...Still plenty of work to do, but have progressed a great deal from not too many years ago....

Chorlini, Digging up some old posts. Dated responses.

Pebblesf, too bad you didn't actually approach him, sure he'd appreciate it. I know I do and think you do too.

Well, the subject of my boots has surely been discussed, but usually in an argumentative setting.  He does not approve or think I look good, ridicules me for wearing regular cowboy boots....  I think he realizes my boots aren't going away, so the topic just isn't discussed and the boots aren't left out in the open for him to see.  Not great, I know....It is a shame for sure.

  4. It seems like societal pressures did a number on many of us.   I remember my sister's red go go boots also...Put them on every time I was home alone....The strong desire to wear them and how they made me feel were more powerful than the "little voices" saying I shouldn't.  I don't know what I would have done if I was ever "caught".  Thinking back, maybe my Mom/sister did know, but let me be me....

Would have been really interesting though if you asked him his opinions before revealing yourself.

Well, it might have been "interesting", but he/she might not have appreciated being trapped into possibly making comments that were not complimentary

What's wrong with you @pebblesf, go on vacation and don't take any heels?  sacrilege!🙃🤣🤣

Wow a public man in heels sighting. Were they a block heel like Siro or were they thin? Inquiring minds want to know.

They were block heel with pointed toes, and looked great, was so envious....

  7. Spending 12 days in Honolulu on vacation, really missing my boots...

Today, while out and about, I saw a tall young man wearing a real nice pair of black patent leather ankle boots with 4" heels.  I stepped up my pace to catch up with his group.....Passed him by, and complimented his boots while looking back at him.  He didn't notice because of the usual phone distractions....One of his female friends nudged him telling him about my compliment.  He apologized and thanked me.  I told him not to worry, and that I didn't want to seem "creepy" by stopping him and forcing a conversation.   Wish I could have taken a photo, but that would have been creepy....

At this point, it's time to start looking for the backup to the backup! It would still be interesting to know exactly what happened, but I suppose we'll never know. If it happens again with the second pair, then we'll be on to something. I once had a pair of sandals I liked so much that I purchased three different pairs, and all three failed in the same way in surprisingly short order, usually right after I had spent money on them at the cobbler. I see a pair for sale from time to time, but thus far I've managed to avoid a fourth mistake.

The more I think about it, the more I suspect the cobbler accidentally damaged the heel while replacing the tips, then did his best to "repair" it....I am not one who leans back on my heels, and do my best to avoid road/sidewalk hazards.  I surely would have remembered getting the heel jammed enough to do that damage, not to mention probably would have tripped/fallen as well.   Oh well, will try to get them repaired...Then start looking for the "back up to the back up pair"!

  9. I'm more than willing to spend the money to have the heel replaced...I guess I just worry about the heel not being an exact replacement, or looking like crap.  I agree, the wooden dowl would snap off...Some sort of steel roll pin or threaded rod seems like the only viable heel "repair".  I guess I will just try a new cobbler, and see what he thinks.

I just can't think of anything I did that would have split that heel like that.  I just had those heels tips replaced not too long ago, just wondering if the cobbler messed up the heel while doing the work, then tried to patch it back together....  I am usually very careful when walking, don't walk over grated city sidewalk surfaces, and avoid rough sidewalk surfaces whenever possible.  I think I would have remembered a mishap that could have led to such damage...

Oh well, will try a new cobbler...

I thought I felt this heel to be a little weak the past few times I was out, but didn't pay much attention....Then, finally, after walking for a few miles I had a closer look...  How the heck did I wreck this heel like this?  I really don't tip back on the heels, at least not enough to do this.  It almost looks as though something actually cut the heel, but I don't know how that could have happened.  My long time cobbler has just retired, I am so hesitant to try a new cobbler in the hopes this can be fixed properly.  But, I guess I have no choice.  Wish there was some way I could insert a small rod or something like that up into the current heel just to stabilize it....I just don't have much confidence that the heel can be replaced and look original...I guess I was lucky the heel never actually gave out on me.  So happy I bought another pair of these exact boots a few years back and put them away....

Hello! I have not been here for few years but with wearing heels I had stopped the year after I had enjoyed all the automn and winter. Maybe it is due to Covid 19. I had scrapped my principal heel boots and I had wanted to wear something new I had couldnt find.

I have two pairs of heels and it is enough for me! I just wear heels when i go to an erotic massage parlor. I have lost the interest.

Sorry to hear you have lost interest buddy....

I have never taken a tumble due to uneven surfaces, but I've eaten it due to a low coefficient of friction, and right in front of people, no less. The plastic heel tips that are OEM equipment on many shoes can be treacherous on polished flooring! Once replaced with hard rubber, no problem, unless snow and ice are involved.

Yeah, a slippery smooth floor has taken me out also

You could ask Your friend if a lease of the Eldorado for a weekend would be an option? 🤔

He is a great friend, so I'm sure he would just let me borrow the car, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with it, couldn't take the chance of something happening....  Not cuz of the boots, more because of other drivers...

Sorry guys, I live in New England and the weather is mild (most of the time) to cold in winter.  I wear hose 365.

Never thought I would be looking forward to the end of summer in Rhode Island, can't take too much more of this heat...Still wearing my boots anyway though

Sorry to burst your bubble @pebblesf, but the other day Chanel West Coast had on sneakers.

CWC is short and loves her heels, usually stilettos, both  boots and sandals.

Yeah, she doesn't always wear boots, but it is always worth a look to see if CWC is teasing me....  I love her crazy laugh also....
