Steel-toed, pointy, wing-tipped high heeled pumps? Now that is way cool. Has your Nephew been tempted to imitate his Uncle's wearing of heels and tried said Italian pair on yet?

    Cheers---

    Dawn HH

I doubt he could find any that fit with his feet. They're huge! My nephew towers over me. While both my nephews know I have a thing for heels, I doubt they know that I wear them myself. Honestly, I have'nt seen them since I started wearing them in public.

  2. Yes, I intend to wear these to at least one session of jury duty, and if I can find zip leg jeans this weekend I might decide to wear those embroidered boots as well as the courtroom is air conditioned. I'll probably take my Two Lips boots to the cobbler this weekend to have the heel taps replaced and see if he can do anything about the toe wear. I'll take some photo's of me modeling the Somethin' else boots this weekend, and I'll do the same for the Highest Heel boots if I get the zip leg jean. I've reached that point with the new boots where I now have more womens footwear then mens. Oh well, at least it keeps my mens footwear in much better shape for my day job. I'll be sure to keep you all updated on my adventures in the courtroom.

  3. Well the next pair of boots has arrived! The black patent "Fuse" boots by Somethin' else.

Yes, that marblizing you see in the photo is real. When I slipped them on for the first time, I was in for a surprise. This is a pump disguised as a boot. If you were to strip off the outer material there is a pump underneath. Way cool. And as I predicted the advertized 3 inch heel was actually 3.5 inches. I think I have another winner for street heeling.

  4. Great story Anita. Sounds like you've come across more than your fair share of real jerks to come up with a story like that. As I'm still relatively new here I had to back-read some more of your stuff. I was deeply moved (to tears as a matter of fact) about your accounts of your nephew now neice Seannie. Please wish her the best for me. Any chance in the near future she'll join hhplace? Thanks!

  5. Well just got back from jury selection today, and I went in my 3.5 inch stilletto Two Lips boots (I just love that pair as they are very comfy and I can easily spend all day in them). And guess what, I wasn't charged for contempt of court. In fact for the five trials the selection was for, I wound up being on three of them. I sat next to a rather attractive older woman during the selection process who was wearing a rather nice pair of white linen peep-toe mules with maybe a 2 or 2.5 inch slightly chunky spike heel. Caught her several times checking out my boots, but hey she probably caught me checking out her shoes too. Just goes to show you that even our legal system has no problem accepting a guy in heels.

  6. while we're talking about wedge mules/slides:

has anyone tried to dye the rafia/rope edging to this type of thing in a matching colour to the upper (black/brown/tan etc.)?

would a shoe or textile dye be better?

sorry this a really a mods forum topic but it hardly deserves its own thread.

    /I

Tough to say Ionic black dyes still happen to have a prominant color in them like blue or green, so if you go at it with some black dyes and it doesn't take well you may wind up with some color other than black.

I would recommend perhaps the black wax that my cobbler uses for cleaning up shoe blemishes.

  7. I had a very good hh experience two weeks ago when I revealed my secret to my mom.I told her the truth straight from age 8.She was pleasantly supprised ,to her it was so cool. When she saw me walking in 4 inch slides she said U do that better than the girls. So heeling to mom a definate green light.I even told her my favorite was 4 inch pumps. She knows I'm female from the ackles down.I also am a single father so I asked her about a bad influance on my son.She said no way ,but be conservitive to not wear my pumps to a ball game or pta meeting because children can be mean.So I went to shoe dept and bought a pair of 3 inch wedges to warm people around me to my wearing heels so far not one negitive comment. But two more positive ones my roommate liked my new shoes also and tryed them on and told me these are comfortable, but he still can't see how I wear my pumps He said I must have big balls. Then again at the local dragstrip I was asked by a guy also watching the race, are those comfortable so he too tryed them on and said the samething.I have hh at the mall lows wallmart and even got a hair cot wearing my wedges. Thanks to the forum for helping me build my new found confindince. Now getting dads OK is in my crosshairs.

That's great to hear! I'm sure it's very encouraging to many. What an awesome mom!

  8. Heh! Not in this lifetime!

Anyhoo, thanks for the compliments, guys! Like I said, wearing a skirt for the first time was fun, and I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed the experience. I don't think I'll ever go out in public in a skirt (even I'm not that brave!), but I can certainly enjoy taking pics indoors dressed in one.

Not to worry, neither would I.

  9. I have mentioned that I have been wearing a hole in the leather on the toe of my boots. It is either my stride is too long, the sole is too short to protect the toe, or as someone suggested thigh boots weren’t meant for walking around in. I thought I would try to keep my black pair from wearing further by gluing a penny under the toe of each boot. Some epoxy seems to be holding the pennies in place and I can hear the metallic click when I walk so it might just working.

I've had a similar problem with my Two Lips boots, but the toe is much too pointed to hide a penny underneath. I have thought about masking the toe off and using some shoe goo to cover the area that is getting wear.

  10. And no one said another word about your heels the rest of the evening?

Well most of the evening I was tucked away in the lighting tech box. After the show though I had to do the marquis. There was a guy sitting in a convertable in front of the theatre (a lot of people were out in front of the theatre at this point). I proceeded to do the marquis as this guy watched me. I suspect he was expecting me to screw up this miraculous feat he was witnessing in heels. I proceeded to expertly and efficiently letter the marquis. As I finished and came down the ladder he commented "Nice job.", to which I thanked him. It had to be the heels because I couldn't imagine anyone saying anything about my lettering skills otherwise.
