  1. Not in this lifetime if what Bubba said about such shoes are true! Even I have limits, and those things exceeds them by a light year!

Even if 5's started feeling a little flat and the vamps were cut lower?

  2. Well, it appears my heel wearing is having an effect on my female coworkers at my day job. Keep in mind I don't wear any of my high heels to my day job. Many of my female coworkers are aware of my thing for heels and that I wear them out and about outside of work, and insist that I at least bring in the pairs that I buy for their inspection. And it seems that they love the boots that I've been wearing, especially those knee-high embroidered boots, although I haven't worn them out and about yet. One of those coworkers really surprised me today by coming into work in a pair of ankle boots with pointy toes and approximatly a 2.5 inch narrow cuban heel. While this may not sound like much they were absolutely adorable on her size 5 feet. This was the first time I have ever seen her wear anything other than sneakers to work. They made the most delightful sound on the linolium floor of the cafeteria at breaktime this morning. She was absolutely glowing in her enjoyment of wearing them, and I could tell by the look in her eye she was thanking me for rekindling her interest in wearing heels. As you have probably guessed, I have no problem with my coworkers knowing that I wear heels, it's just that I don't wear anything higher than 2 inches there or to church for that matter. To me church just isn't the place to be the center of attention. Anywhere else though, and all bets are off. I'll wear them anywhere.

  3. Like a few others here, I'm mostly interested in shoes that blur gender lines without crossing over into looking like too much of a novelty. In other words, I never want to look like my shoes are wearing me. So personally, I'm less interested in stillettos, pumps, etc. (shoes that might make people say, "Golly, those shoes are a bit much" even when women are wearing them) and more interested in things you see most women wearing day-to-day.

    Welcome adorn!

Wow, if I wore on my feet what women are wearing here, I'd be stuck in sneakers, flip-flops or Uggs (for colder weather).

I to gravitate towards mainstream shoe designs, but usually with a pointed toe and stiletto heel. As the rest of my clothing is distictly male at best I can only blur the gender lines. Trust me, it takes the whole package to cross the gender line. Shoes by themselves just don't seem to do it.

  4. Regarding that woman and her caustic comment towards you, who is she to determine what is normal and what isn't? Sounds like just another narrow mind unwilling to expand, to boraden her horizons, someone safe and sound, wrapped the blanket of her own misconceptions and beliefs. Those are the minds that can never be changed.

Jeff, you'll be glad to know that she meant it, but was in no way caustic. The funny thing is it had nothing to do with my shoes. Some people have a way of telling you whats on there mind without the intention of offending you.

  5. JeffB, Sound like it was an interesting experience. You say it like it is. Peoples reactions to a guy in heels is minimal. Thank you for an example of some of the things society considers normal, really shows how messed our society is. Once a woman I know accused me of being "not normal", to which I replied, thank you, that the best compliment I have recieved all day. I've even got a T-shirt that says "Normal People Bore Me!" To anybody out there that hasn't worn heels in public yet, but desires to do so. Be prepared for lack of response. That really seems to be the norm.

  6. Welcome abaord, jessica01! Can't say I've seen those plastic chinese slippers, but they sound horrid. As for flip-flop, I've seen too many women wearing them when they just shouldn't. Example: There is a teller at my bank who is very attractive and dresses well except for cheap rubber flip-flops. If only she was able to see herself in a pair of heels, or even in a real low heeled shoe.

  7. I am not standing on the ball of my foot, but farther forward on the joints of my toes before the ball of my foot.

Sad to say but 5" probably isn't for you, texasbumpkin. The ball of you foot MUST bear your weight with your heel or SERIOUS foot problems will results, that are potentially crippling.

I would hate to see anyone permanently destroy their mobility for the sake of high heels.

  8. Shafted:-)

Steel-toed, pointy, wing-tipped high heeled pumps? Now that is way cool. Has your Nephew been tempted to imitate his Uncle's wearing of heels and tried said Italian pair on yet?

    Cheers---

    Dawn HH

I doubt he could find any that fit with his feet. They're huge! My nephew towers over me. While both my nephews know I have a thing for heels, I doubt they know that I wear them myself. Honestly, I have'nt seen them since I started wearing them in public.
