I need platforms over 8 inches tall!

I love my shoes and my boyfriend does too. I'm 5'3" tall so there is nothing hotter than putting some sexy platforms. My faves are these: http://www.strippershoeshop.com/products/PD162151/detail/162151.aspx?bt=QlpoOTFBWSZTWQG%2f%2fj8AAANIgCAAcyAABCAAIaepoaEMCIqNzcZ3KDQHi7kinChIAN%2f%2fH4A%7e

They add another 8" to my height so I am 5'11", nearly as tall as my BF.

I find them easy to walk around in, and do a lot of dance so am used to my legs being strained and my feet being at weird angles, and I have a great sense of balance so want to go higher. I think I could even go as high as 12" quite easily and the idea of me towering over my BF in foot-tall shoes is such a turn on.

The only pair I have found is http://www.iconshoes.co.uk/details-174.html but I don't like them because of the lace-up design. I prefer pole dance shoes, either in pink, black, white, see through or even wood or cork effect.

I can't find anything really over 8" so would really love to know where you can get 10-12" platforms from.

Thanks ;)

Oh wow, thanks, some of those shoes are just off the scale! 15.5" - absolutely incredible, if I wore those I would be nearly 6ft7! I will probably "just" stick to the 12" heels on that site (making me 3" taller than my BF), shame the pics don't show all colours but it's defo worth a gamble. Just hope I don't hit my head on any door frames!!

Yes very expensive like balletbooter said, one pair I saw was £400 (£800) which is astronomical! But I found one pair here that I would get 12" heels on: http://www.nadiaheels.ch/en/contents/en-uk/p187.html?lmd=38716.434028 which I quite liked - £100 ($200). They're a bit plain I suppose, but I would get them in pink (I like the striped style of my other platforms I linked above)

I have bought platforms for about the same as you derf but I expect if I go over 8" I will be expected to pay a premium as they're so rare.

Hi Roz,

I think that if you get the 12" version of the Marbella mules the price has 800 Swiss Francs added. Thats £500 for some shoes!!!

Good luck. I'm sure you can find something much, much cheaper. I would advise you to find an American company as the Dollar is so weak you can get some good bargains.

Have you tried Mr James Shoes? http://www.deyoproduction.com

The website looks really badly made but the prices are much cheaper especially the sample shoes.

Regards

Ben

Thanks balletboot2000 and benno, both very helpful links ;) How cool are those wooden candyswirl shoes on Mr James Shoes site? Some extreme heels there too, can't believe the height of some of them. Maybe I should learn stilt walking! I agree £500 is ridiculous for shoes. I will wear them more than once but I normally spend a max of £50 as then I can buy more shoes. I have about 40 pairs of platform shoes (7"+) alone! I am happy to pay quite a bit more to go over 10" though.

The Black & Gold shoes look incredibly high, & must have a least a 6" arch, have you ever worn heels which put you right up on your tiptoes before? My wife can wear 5.5" heels with no platform & walk in them well, but these platforms look to be much higher in real terms.

I have borrowed ballet heels before and honestly didn't have a problem with them, it didn't take long before I could walk without even a wobble. I like the idea of a large arch despite being a fan of massive platforms.

Hey tsheat, thanks for the link. Woooooow, some nice shoes there. Although not above 8", I lurve these:

http://www.elite-heels.com/shop/product_info.php?info=p104_HK-bk-wl-white-Cork-Sandals.html

and http://www.elite-heels.com/shop/product_info.php?info=p87_PU-ex-gl-gold-leather-Pin-Up-Peeptoe-Pumps.html

If I were to go for over 8" on that site I would probably get: http://www.elite-heels.com/shop/product_info.php?info=p106_PPS-as-sl-Mega-Platform-Sandals.html

They cost £275 but I have resigned myself to the fact that if I want to go over 8" I will have to pay a lot. I am also looking to finally buy some ballet heels (now that I know I am comfortable in them) so I might hold off on those and just get the ones I linked above in 10 or 12".

Thanks again.

The gold elite shoes are amazing. I have a video of them from Queen of Heels. Really lovely in motion.

I found an even better pair that I am going to buy: http://www.elite-heels.com/shop/product_info.php?info=p108_glamour-fetish-sandal.html

I prefer the smaller ankle strap.

And I am going to buy these with 12" heels in black:

The ballet heels can wait a while coz I feel like treating myself with those gorgeous gold heels - I can wear them out on the town too which obviously I won't be doing with 12" heels!

Thanks, I think they look lush. I think I will be OK to stand and walk in them, I am comfortable walking in even ballet heels so hopefully I will be OK. Thanks for the reply ;)

Hi Roz,

I was thinking of buying those shoes also for my wife but in Black, so I will be keen to hear what you think of them & how Elite Heels are to deal with.

Do you know what the heel height is as they look at least 6 inches high?

Would you really wear them out on the town for a night out, I think my wife could just about walk in them but not for a night out?

Hello there, Yes, I agree that they're 6" high. My experience of 6" heels is mixed. If you get a good quality pair (ie, spend a bit of money) then I am fine in them. I never ever have a problem with the arch of my foot just because I have danced since I was 12, the only problem I ever have is with blisters if the shoe doesn't fit properly, but if you spend money on a good quality shoe it isn't normally an issue for me. I have gone for cheap 6" heels without platform (actually one might be 5.5") and both are horrible to wear, but the ones I have spent the money on are normally fine. Forgot to say, I wouldn't be a night out clubbing type night, just a meal then bar afterwards type night, so nothing too OTT where I would be on my feet for too long.
