Who has bought some new shoes

Here is my latest purchase.  I picked these up from The Shoe Company for those that live in Canada.  The Brand is Nine West and the model is "Goodlookin"  That model comes in various colors but these ones are sea green.  They were the only color they had.  Online they will tell you the heel height is 4.5 inches.  But they actually measure at 4 3/4 inches.  And even though I would call myself a seasoned heel wearer, I can definitely notice the almost 5 inches when I put them on.  And there is no platform either.  So they are definitely high!

When I tried them on in store  I fell in love instantly!  Then I checked the price.  They were marked $80 on the box but they had a 70% off sticker as well.  So I managed to snag these babies for just over $25!  Now my only problem will be trying to find an outfit for them.  I have never worked with green shoes before.  I welcome suggestion from everyone.  Here are a couple of pics as well.

Hmm! Green shoes! How interesting! Nice style! Well, to offer my two cents worth, perhaps a green, short sleeved top in a lighter shade than the shoes and slim, cream colored pants.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Sound like it could work.  I'll have to keep that in mind.  Thanks!

Very nice heels, but too high for me to wear.

Yesterday, my grand-daughter attempted to wear a pair of similar looking heels, with her red gown. to her, "Senior Prom". At the last minute she decided to wear a pair of silver flats. I said to her a very smart move, considering all the dancing and partying, going on at one's Senior Prom. She did wear the "Killer Heels" to the  hotel, but changed into her flats, to party. She said she had a great time.

Oh yes, to be a teenager again!

Clearly, your grand daughter recognized the importance of comfort over style. Nothing wrong with that.

Oddly enough, this is the current subject of my new thread in "For the Guys." You aren't going to wear those heels to prom or any other lengthy event successfully without a great deal of practice and training.

On a different subject, you must remember high school much more fondly than I do, Bluejay. Haha.

I may have just purchase my new favorite pair of shoes!  I was shopping one of my favorite thrift stores here that I frequent.  I was there Sunday actually, when I first spotted these.  I fell in love instantly!  And they were in mint condition!  They were used once if at all!  I was rather disappointed when I tried them on.  I am normally a 9 1/2 to 10.  But depending on the shoe I can go as low as an 8 1/2 to a 9.  These were marked 9.  I tried them on and they were not even close to fitting.  I don't know if my feet were swollen that day or what, but I should have been able to get them on and at least have them be tight.  So no go.  I left extremely disappointed.

Fast forward to today, and there I was  shopping again.  To my suprise the shoes were still there.  I had to try again.  This time they fit like a dream!  I didn't hesitate a second to buy them!  The were marked at $19.99 but I had a 30% off coupon.  I got these for less than $20!

The brand of the shoes is shoedazzle.  They have lace detailing, and a solid black toe box.  They also have an all black pencil thin 4 1/2" heel.

The following pic does not do these shoes any justice.

Picked these up today in a thrift store.  They are a low cut ankle shoe/boot  The brand is Forever21.  The heel measures 4 inches.  The tops of the shoes are in good shape.  The bottoms of the shoes leave something to be desired though.  They are quite used.  But I figured no one will see them anyhow.  Plus I paid less than $15!  They definitely have $15 worth of life left in them.

As soon as I saw them they had a "schoolgirl" feel to me.  I immediately thought of Taylor Swift.  I have seen her wear similar shoes out and about in pictures many times.  There was no size marking on them.  The store had them marked as an 8-8 1/2.  But they fit me and I am usually a 9 1/2-10.  They were just a touch small on me so they were probably around a size 9.  I love them and can't wait to wear them out and about.  Have to play around with some outfits for them first.

I purchased these in black and blue polka dot about a month ago and still having a hard time taking them off. They are so comfortable and easy to wear. I would recommend them to all . They came from Torrid and as I was trying them on the sales lady told me she tried them on and really liked them . I was urged to walk around in them and ended up wearing them home after getting them rung up. Wish they had some other styles with that style heel.

Payless clearance + promotions + free shipping being moved down to $25 finally got me to purchase a couple styles I've wanted for awhile.  All are Christian Siriano for Payless.

First are Mayhem lace up booties in black.  Very nice faux suede uppers, easily the nicest synthetic I've come across.  Everything about these is soft and well-made and my size 13 fits perfectly.  Of all the shoes purchased in this group these ended up being the biggest surprise.

Next are Manic pumps in black.  I was hoping to get a pair of these in blue but they finally sold out.  I opted for black and white instead since they are currently $10 per pair and with BOGO it's two pairs of awesome heels for $15 - can't go wrong.  Although they were universally praised here when they first became available, I've heard mixed reviews from others.  That said, I really like them and they feel like they'll be really comfortable.  I just hope the mesh lining doesn't sag over time as it has already detatched in a few places but I was expecting that from what I read.

Last are Manic in white.  Same with the above, fit very nice and will look great this summer.  I've wanted a pair of white heels for awhile but never found a pair that I really liked.  These have a classic feel to them and I really like how they look.  I'm also looking forward to mixing the black and white versions of this shoe on the same day.

While these are all great, I really wish Payless would bring back Christian Siriano's Gold Collection.  Those styles were all really unique and even if all of them weren't my thing, it was nice to have those choices in size 13.

ManinPumps,

When I finally decided to get them, they were on clearance.  I got them in 11, that was the largest size they had.  They were a little tight at first, especially the right one, I've kept stretchers in them since I bought them and they are coming along nicely.  The longest I've worn them is 4 hrs +, the heels are a little loud.....not a worry.

Nice choices, Lime15.  I doubt I would have looked twice at the Mayhem model, but they look good on you.  I tried the Manic in both 12 medium and 11 wide, and neither was a good fit for me, plus, I found the heel seemed to hit my foot in the wrong spot.  Just couldn't find a comfortable fit there, though I like the look alot.  Good finds at those prices!

Thanks!  I agree about the Mayhem style - it really didn't appeal to me at first until I found one review online where someone had a picture actually wearing the shoe.  It looked interesting to me, unlike anything else I have, and the price was right so I went for it - really glad I did.  The Manic really seems to be either hit or miss for everyone.  I was concerned that the back of the heel cup would feel strange as well as it doesn't naturally curve up off the heel but rather has a gap at the bottom and tapers forward.  I tend not to like that both in terms of fit and look.  At $15 for two pairs I figured if I didn't like them I could make it back and thensome if I were to sell them.  My concerns about the heel cup styling ended up being fairly minimal but we'll see how they work out after a couple weeks.

I wanted the nude color too, and black, but they weren't in stock.  Still, I was primarily a boot person, now I'm liking the shoes...you guys created a monster (and I like it!)...

Here's a pic of me wearing them...

I have that same pair, in the "Karmen" pump from  Payless. I like that color very much. I've worn mine with black leggings, with a polo shirt top that matches the color of the pumps, perfectly. I like the combo very much.

Enjoy your new pumps.
