CALLING ALL UK ATTENDERS - EUROSTAR TRAIN DETAILS!

Note - Journey takes about 2 hrs 48 min, but times are LOCAL!

For booking: www.eurostar.com (suggest PM Calv for seat no., and then book soonest!)

Can those of you from the UK (Dr. Shoe, Xaphod, Calv, Firefox and any others) please post below to arrange the best mutually convenient train times amongst yourselves, please? I am going in advance, arriving at the Hotel Saint Georges on Wednesday 4th February to do a bit of business in Paris before the Heel-Meet starts.

Please book your hotel and Eurostar reservations individually using the contact details given, and do this as soon as possible to be sure of getting your reservations!

Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

My favourite would be the 1511 out and the 1816 back. By the way when you book Eurostar you are given a reserved seat so unless everybody books together there will be no chance of sitting together, unless we could find somewhere empty after the train departs. Possibly unlikely on a Friday and definitely unlikely on Sunday.

Calv - thanks for posting your favoured Eurostar train times! I've asterisked these on my timetable (above) and suggested that the UK members PM you for your seat number so that they can book S.A.P. to try and sit alongside. Or, better still, Xaphod has now concurred with the same train and requests that you get his ticket too. similarly, can you check with Firefox and/or Dr. Shoe as to whether they are happy for you to block-book three/four seats together? Calling Calv! As Xaphod's requests, can you please block-book his and your adjacent Eurostar seats? Firefox and Dr. Shoe may or may not be coming, so can you check their ticket needs with them Please Calv? (I'm flying Bristol to Paris Wed 4th February a.m. and flying back to Bristol on Sun 8th Feb early evening). Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Can anybody else (including Firefox and Dr Shoe) please shout here if they want to be included in the booking. I will look at it on Thursday evening. As I will need to pay for these tickets up front once you have indicated your plans then I will not accept any excuses for non-payment!!! Tickets will not be refundable.

Hello Daz! Why not try to find another member of the bank's staff to swap days-off and cover for you for that Friday/Saturday, and jolly well come along after all? And why not treat Jade - she'd LOVE Paris! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Booked my room in the Hotel St Georges Lafayette. Actually, I was just in time ..... this was the last room available for Fri 6th and Sat 7th, according to that weird booking service suggested by Heelfan. Xa

To bad Phil (Pheels) still isn't around. He grew up in Paris with an unquenchable passion for high heels. A couple of years ago, when we were planning to stop in Paris on our last trip to Europe, he recommended several top line shoe stores to me. However, we chose to spend a couple of extra days in another city and went straignt to London without stopping in Paris. Wish I could remember the names and addresses for y'al

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Well I just booked a twin room for the single person price with no problems so there seems to be plenty of space left. I can't imagine in Feb they will be booked. It will probably cheaper to turn up and get a room on the day as you always pay a premium to the agency for booking even though they never say so.

What has happened to Ionic? He's usually very interested in these Heel-Meets and has attended several. And yet he hasn't answered any of my PMs and hasn't posted on the Forums since 17th Dec 03, having been a very keen poster previously. Does anyone know? I hope he's OK! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Just been onto the hotel booking website and it is telling me there are no rooms left!! Would any of you folks who have secured a twin bedded room be prepared to allow me to share please? Otherwise I will have to look out another hotel and it would be better if we could stay in the same hotel. Bit of a pisser after I booked all the Eurostar tickets from the UK.

Hello Calv! - Looks like your problem has been solved by the ever-kind Firefox! However, I think you and Firefox should now "legitamise" the arrangement by informing the hotel's booking agent because they seem to charge per person staying and not per room, meaning that they would probably expect you to book in and pay an additional cost to Firefox's, once they have been told that Firefox is amenable to the shared-room arrangement. Oh, and when you phone, it might be worth double-checking whether the hotel really IS full or not, because we can then let the Forum readers know in case there are still any more budding Heel-Meet attenders hoping to come! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Hmmm .... it be time to start to think of where we are going when in Paris.

I'd like to put in a vote for Ernest and Astus. I'd like to try a pair of these....

Calv has got the Eurostar tickets for the 1409 on Friday. Check in (ye Gods, can't you just get on the damn train anymore ?) is 30 minutes. Calv and I will meet in the Reef bar from 1300 onwards. I usually sit outside on the balcony, if there is space. The Reef bar is on the first floor in the main building, opposite platform 8-ish. Xa

I'd love to, but unfortunately, paying for sorting out a poorly car and now a trip next week to Italy for work means I won't be able to. However, depending on which hotel they put me in, I could be next to some wonderful shoe shops :-) Emma

Hello Emma!

I already knew that sadly you weren't coming to our Euro Heel-Meet in Paris. However, I just thought your might have liked to have checked out the Reefer Bar opposite Platform 8ish before waving the intrepid Euro heel-meeters bye bye as the boarded their Eurostar! Dr. Shoe said he might do just that himself!

Anyway, in the spring it looks as if we've got Leicester and then maybe Bristol popping up!

In the meantime, have a greaty heely time in Italy, and before you go check out all the wonderful Italian shoe specialists on this site of Stylettos:
