I noticed the calendar is full of people's birthdays, so much so I was surprised I found the Chicago Heel meet this weekend.

Is there any way to keep birthdays separate from manual entries?

As a project manager, I've used various software to coordinate the efforts of people towards a common goal, and my company, which uses a vBulletin board for coordination among it's field techs (me!) uses the projects feature for coordinating issues which arise during extended service calls (like what I'm on, now). It is essential, however, to have a single project manager!

It's not a real project management software, though (and we use something else), but it is decent for coordinating some issues and tracking completion, as well as basic timelines/events/milestones.

From what I understand, it's original intent was to manage multi-programmer software projects, sort of a collaborative tool, hence the "bugs" "features" part.

Again, we just use it to coordinate various issues, such as requesting replacement parts, and we use it to track the various issues, with messages such as "Sub-assembley D you shipped DOESN'T FIT! I requested sub-assembly C, you ninny!"

    That sort of thing.

I could see it being used to coordinate heelmeets. I'd recommend you find a dedicated heel meet coordinator, though, to standardize the approach.

I forgot to add that it looks a bit like a grin, too! :)
